The stories are true

Coloradans really do enjoy being active. It's not a urban legend. People go to work wearing khakis and carrying messenger bags filled to the brim with exercise gear and gorp. It's not unusual to hear conversations peppered with questions about the latest race you (or a friend) just ran. You may see commuters riding their bikes to the bus station. Putting the bike on the rack connected to the bus, then riding to work. Never mind that they might sweat and then smell. People also seem to do cleanses on a frequent basis, and discuss getting their back adjusted because it seems a bit out of alinement. Running is a lot of fun here, Olympic athletes train in Colorado Springs and Boulder, expanding their lungs in their quest for physical perfection and gold. There is a social pressure here to be fit and cute. This is a bit tongue and cheek. But, not really. To those of you who are visiting, don't worry. We won't expect you to exercise with us. But, if you do, drink lots of water.
