So Green

Speakeasy: a place where alcholic beverages are illegally sold-for example during Prohibition in the United States.

It was amazing how wonderful I felt after a few hours at the Green Russell, a hidden gem of a place that is more speakeasy than bar. While there is no prohibition on selling alcohol, the place has been styled in such a was as to remind us of the secretive, stylized world of Prohibition era United States. Hidden beneath Larimer Square the Green Russell is a dark space paneled in wood with cozy chairs, dim lighting, and low tables. We didn't have a reservation (you usually need on) but, the young ladies who man the door were able to seat us in 3 minutes-and then apologized for the wait! From the moment we stepped into foyer we were treated with a courtesy and genuine welcoming feel that really made us feel at home. The drinks aren't cheap. But, this is a place for adults. The drinks were fantastic an amazing mix of flavors that frightened and inticed. we ordered a slice of oreo cookie pie fromWednesday's pie (a post for another day) The pie was orgasmic. By the way, cell phone use is frowned upon and one must use the phone booth for phone conversations. All in all, I love this place!
