First, you have to understand that this is not a family show. Avenue Q is a pervy, hilarious, honest look at human, monster, and puppet nature. Avenue Q is currently running at the Boulder Dinner Theater until November 3rd, 2012. It is a politically incorrect, but honest show about people, their beliefs, and life after college. Having gone to tons of shows at the Boulder Dinner Theater I wasn't really sure what to expect. They are slowing adding in new talent as they have been working with a wonderful group of actors for quite awhile. The problem with working with the same group of people is the possibility of type casting. Avenue Q has allowed this wonderful core group of performers a chance to challenge themselves and grow with a show that provides material that isn't "safe" They rise to the challenge and quite frankly exceeded my expectations. This is an amazing show! One of the best shows that I've seen at the Boulder Dinner Theater in the 8 years that I have been going there. Please support the performers and the Boulder Dinner Theater by going to see Avenue Q. The run will end on November 3rd, 2012.

Estes Park, Colorado
Estes Park, Colorado The first thing you notice when you turn the around the bend into Estes Park is the sparkle of sunlight on water. Lake Estes is part of the natural framework of the town. The mountain range that make up Rocky Mountain National Park is the other part of the frame. . This is a doable day trip from Denver. It's located two hours away, it is a huge stop on the tourist list. But, as a local, I love going up to Estes Park. On this trip we hung out at the Lake. |
Childhood and adult fun. Paddle boating on Lake Estes, a beautiful sunny Colorado day |

Part of the Stanley Hotel, made famous by the infamous movie "The Shining" |
I had a friend who was married in this hotel. It was a lovely Scottish wedding, but, I was slightly creeped out by the hotel. It is gorgeous and you should check it out, just ignore the ghosts.
